The topic that has been assigned to me is freedom of assembly, my job was to create a question and find two cases that is able to answer back the question. While doing this assignment, I realized that Malaysia does not fully practice the freedom of assembly even though it is stated in article 10(1) of the Federal Constitution, because from the two cases that I found, you have to get a license for any sort of assembly which basically means there’s no more freedom of assembly. This issue gave me interest because I was curious on how the two cases was discharge as it did not follow article 10(1) of the Federal Constitution.
Some activities in classes were interesting and I learned something from it. Such as the second class activity where the class were split into two groups and each have to prepare a question for the other group to answer. The other class activity was groups of five members have to answer questions prepared by Ms. Sarantha online while being able to do some research and findings on the questions. It gave me a lot of knowledge because I had to research and find answers related to the questions.
Regarding on how Taylor’s Graduate Capabilities have helped me through this assignment is that I learned that communication skills is very important especially among group mates. Without communication nothing can be done smoothly. Communicating and always listening among group mates was crucial in this assignment.
Besides that, it gave me lifelong learning as well, as it is our fundamental liberties and rights in Malaysia. This module was an interesting one, because in the beginning I had an option to choose a few module for my electives, and I chose Rights in Malaysia. I thought it would be just another boring elective subject but it turns out to be very interesting and knowledgeable to me. Especially all those cases and all the videos happening around our country. I definitely did enjoy this module even though it can be challenging at some times.
